At Well Water Finders, we’re advancing how groundwater is discovered, accessed, and managed. We help decision makers in real estate, agriculture, municipal supply, and private land ownership determine not only where groundwater is located, but whether there is enough of it to meet their needs. With every survey, we deliver actionable answers while building a first-of-its-kind water intelligence network that can ultimately serve governments, researchers, and industries worldwide.
Our team brings decades of combined expertise in groundwater location technology, delivering solutions that help landowners drill smarter, reduce costs, and map subsurface layers for sustainable aquifer recharge. And as water scarcity becomes one of the world’s most urgent challenges, the data we collect is laying the foundation for a global water intelligence platform designed to inform future policy, resource strategies, and international cooperation.
Born from decades of engineering expertise, our patented system helps solve one of the world’s most urgent challenges: water scarcity.
Well Water Finders builds on a family legacy of engineering innovation. Electrical engineer Franz Vandekop previously patented and built the first solid-state over-the-horizon positioning system, deployed by NOAA, the military, and the oil industry before the advent of GPS. Together with his son Andrew, a robotics engineer, the pair developed a pioneering groundwater detection system and secured two U.S. patents after years of field testing across diverse terrains.
Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable water solutions, Teisha Vandekop launched Well Water Finders to bring this technology to market. Today, as we manufacture our first commercial units, we are not only helping communities locate and access groundwater, but also generating the data that can guide water decisions for generations to come.

As water scarcity intensifies, Well Water Finders is scaling its technology to serve not only Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas, but also to build a worldwide groundwater data network. Whether we're helping a landowner identify the best well site or enabling policymakers to plan national water strategies, our mission is clear: to deliver cutting-edge groundwater insights that drive smarter water decisions locally, nationally and globally.
Groundwater Technology Pioneer | Patented Innovator | Growth-Stage Leader
Andrew Vandekop is a groundwater technology innovator with more than 17 years of industry experience and two U.S. patents for using electromagnetic waves to determine groundwater levels. As CEO of Well Water Finders, he leads the company’s technology development, commercialization, and strategic growth with a focus on making groundwater discovery faster, more affordable, and more reliable.
Before founding Well Water Finders, Andrew served as Vice President of Sales at a telecom startup, where he managed over $200 million in revenue and contributed to its successful IPO on the NYSE. Earlier in his career, he worked in robotics engineering and, at just 29, sold his first patent, a laser-based billiard training system.
Andrew’s career reflects a consistent pattern: creating and commercializing technology that solves real-world problems. That track record in innovation, sales leadership, and IP development now drives his work to scale Well Water Finders and help shape the future of groundwater discovery and aquifer sustainability.
